[News] Newbie Guide Part 1 - Downloading, Creating an Account, Installing, Launch and Setup and Creating a character

Don't know how to get started with DSO? Well this guide will help you get started!

Downloading:

Press "Downloads" on the main Navigation bar on the left.




Once you are on the Downloads page, click "Client", this will take you to the list of downloads for our game clients. (The game client is the actual game.)



Once you are on the "Client Download page" you can choose any download link. If you have a torrent program such as µTorrent or BitTorrent, you can use that (Advanced users only). If you have any issues while downloading, post them on our forum Here


Creating an account:




You can register at any time, so while it is downloading you could register for an account. Click the "Register" button at the top of our website and fill in all of the fields.


Installing and Launching:




When the download has completed, run the file. You will be prompted with on screen instructions, please follow the steps clicking next until the game installs and the installation is complete.

Once the game is installed you may close the installer by clicking the finish button. You may have a shortcut to Dungeon Sea Online on your desktop or start menu. (Depending on if you ticked the option in the installer or not.) Run that and the auto patcher will launch and install updates automatically. Please wait for this process to complete.


Login and Security Code:




After launching the game you will see Sea Isle. Click it. You will then be asked which server you would like to play. Select a server. (Note: Your characters can't change servers once you make them. I'd advise not to enter Jewel Sea because it's already very laggy there.) Enter the account details which you registered earlier. If login is sucessful you will come to the character selection screen, first of all you will need to set a security code to keep your account even more secure. Think of a memorable code and enter it into the two boxes.

You then need to create a character to play the game, click the "Create" option from the menu bar at the bottom of the game screen.


Creating a Character




You will then come to a screen showing the characters (There are four available, Lance, a strong warrior. Carsise, a tough guy. Phyliss a sweet but dangerous girl. And Ami, a tiny girl who never seems to grow up. ) Select a character and you will be shown what classes that character can be.
There are four main starter classes available:

- Lance – Explorer, Swordsman, Hunter
- Carsise – Swordsman
- Phyliss – Herbalist, Swordsman, Hunter
- Ami – Herbalist

You need to enter a character name, and select the hair and face style. Press OK and select a town to start in.
You will go back to the character selection screen. Double click on your newly made character to enter the game world and welcome to Dungeon Sea Online!!
